Humanitarian Bowl: Your Early Entry For Bowl Game Of The Year

The 2009-10 college football bowl season has been somewhat ... well, lacking thus far (you hear that, @InsidetheBCS??). Fortunately, the Humanitarian Bowl showed up on Wednesday to save us from our pre-New Year’s Day bowl doldrums.

  • ↵↵Silly blue field? Check.
  • ↵A MAC team squaring off against a team from the WAC? Check.
  • ↵An offensive shoot-out? Check (85 points and almost 1,000 yards of offense).
  • ↵36 points in the fourth quarter, including three touchdowns in the final 4:06? Check.

↵A 51-yard Bowling Green touchdown to take the lead, immediately followed by a three-play, 66-yard Idaho drive, ending in a touchdown? Check.
↵Idaho going for two and the win -- and getting it -- when a simple extra point would have tied it? Check.
↵↵But really, should we be surprised that Idaho head coach Robb Akey opted to go for two? The man looks like (and even more so, sounds like) a character right out of “Sons of Anarcy.” And SAMCRO don’t play for ties.
