The Buckeye Battle Cry: Two Bad Signs In Loss

SB Nation’s brand new Ohio State blog, The Buckeye Battle Cry, has a thorough recap of the Buckeyes’ loss at Wisconsin on New Year’s Eve afternoon. Eric at the BBC says there are two real big negatives in the loss, one on the injury front, the other on the performance side of things.

In terms of bad news from this game, there were two pieces of truly horrible news for this team. The first, and probably worst, is that William Buford injured his right knee on a shot when he came down awkwardly on it. It's not certain yet (as of this writing) what exactly happened to Buford, but we'll keep you updated. The other piece of bad news is that Jon Diebler has gone completely cold this year ever since Turner went out with his injury. Diebler cannot seem to find a consistant jumpshot, and, more importantly, can't find an open jumpshot to save his life.

Overall, the loss was pretty much what was expected. The fact Ohio State struggled on offense and was inconsistent on defense didn’t help matters.

I highly recommend reading the whole post if your a Buckeye or Big Ten fan.
