Welcome to TSB, where we write about nothing but Texas Tech now. (Kidding, I think.) I couldn’t help but kind of chuckle at the clip below, which followed the Red Raiders’ 90-75 loss to New Mexico on Tuesday.↵

The (Bleeping) Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the (Bleeping) Tree in the Knight Family

↵It’s tough to figure out what exactly set off Pat Knight, because we didn’t get to hear the questions, but it does seem a bit odd to continually question the offense in a game where 1. the team scored 75 points and 2. the team gave up 90. Seems like you’d be a bit more focused on talking defense after that one. If you’re a believer in Ken Pomeroy’s stats, the Red Raiders are solid on defense overall, ranking No. 75 in adjusted defensive efficiency.
↵↵Pat Knight, the son of Bob Knight, in case you’re completely asleep at the wheel, is a young coach (39) and having a pretty nice run of it this season. The Red Raiders are ranked with a 10-2 record, even after the loss to the Lobos. They had a storm-the-court worthy win over Washington. But perhaps most importantly, Knight is beginning to build the appropriate resume of on- and off-the-court freakouts. Lest we forget this memorable ejection and his one-game suspension for criticizing officials. But if Jeremy Schaap had a chance to talk with Pat Knight, I bet he’d tell him he has a long way to go before he’s as outlandish as his dad. For a refresher, top 10 clips from Knight and his NSFW golf outtakes.
