Kimbo Slice Wins Decision Over Houston Alexander
In a result that no one saw coming, Kimbo Slice and Houston Alexander went the full 15 minutes en route to Slice winning a unanimous decision. The first round featured almost nothing but Alexander circling and landing the occasional leg kick. Slice managed to get off no offense in the round while still somehow winning the round on one judge’s scorecard.The second round featured Kimbo getting multiple takedowns, including a huge slam and getting mount multiple times. It was a great round for Slice, who was trying to prove himself against the best competition of his career.

Matt Veach suffered his first career loss at the hands of Frankie Edgar in the second fight of the main card of The Ultimate Fighter Finale. Veach came out strong, scoring with some big slams in the first round and even landing some solid punches standing. Late in the first it became clear that Matt was tiring and Frankie started to score with punches standing.In the second round Veach was never able to get on track as Edgar was much too quick standing. A short right hand wobbled Veach’s legs and Frankie followed him to the ground, unleashing some brutal ground and pound. Finally, Matt had no choice but to give up his back allowing Edgar to sink in the rear naked choke for a submission victory.

In the main card opener Matt Mitrione took on Marcus Jones in a clash of former
players. While Jones won the first round on the SBNation.com card his ultra-amateurish striking skills were leaving holes for Mitrione. Jones managed multiple takedowns but was never able to secure a submission. The round ended with Jones on top looking for an armlock.Quickly in the second round Mitrione was able to land a big right hand that put Jones out. A few more punches for emphasis and the ref had to jump in and save Marcus from any further punishment. The crowd had nothing but boos for the winner, who had filled a “bad guy” role on The Ultimate Fighter TV show.
