We admit, if you’re picking up any of these guys to actually play in Week 14, then you’re probably fighting for the ‘non-playoff teams championship’ in your league. It’s hard to imagine a winning fantasy roster that would need to play a risk like these receivers.Still, we like to cover all the bases.
More WRs Trying To Jump Into Fantasy Relevance
Last week, Devin Thomas and Louis Murphy put up fantasy numbers that were enviable for a WR1. It’s unlikely they’ll do that again, but maybe their time is finally coming.
Thomas is coming off the best game of his two-year career; he caught seven passes for 100 yards and two scores. His role increased three weeks ago when he was looked at seven times in Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys. In the two games since he has 14 targets. He appears to be establishing some kind of rapport with quarterback Jason Campbell.
Now, Campbell and the passing game aren’t going to have the same kind of success the rest of the way as they did against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13. However, in the next two weeks, Thomas faces the New York Giants and Oakland Raiders, who have both shown vulnerabilities with their secondaries.
They key there are Thomas’ upcoming mathcups and the fact that he’s seeing more passes coming his way.
Louis Murphy is benefiting from the Raiders moving to Bruce Gradkowski at QB and an injury to Darius Heyward-Bey.
Hey, sure it’s desperate measures, but some of you may be in desperate times.
