If you’re not a fan of the New York Yankees, it’s hard to get excited about anything they do. Every ounce of scorn directed toward the Bronx is probably deserved. For further explanation, see this song. Oh that evil, insufferable empire.
Curtis To New York? It’s Destiny, Really
↵But ladies and gentleman, Curtis Granderson is coming to the biggest media market in the world! Even if you hate the Yankees... If you like baseball, this is a very good thing. Because as MLB players go, most are as engaging as a pile damp driftwood. Not Curtis though.

↵Squint, and you’ll see that underneath the brim there, he’s written “Don’t Think, Have Fun.” Kind of awesome, no? And here he is, describing why he prefers triples over home runs:
↵↵“The first roar comes on the hit itself. The second roar you hear starts just before you round second. It’s a roar that says, ‘Oh, he’s taking three!’ That’s the biggest roar you hear. Then there is the roar when you make it. A home run only gets one big roar, but a triple gets three.”
↵↵He’s as entertaining as anyone in the game, and now, instead of playing in the relative obscurity that comes with Detroit, he’ll be on national television about 50 times next summer. For baseball, a sport that’s constantly searching for stars to sell the game, that’s quite a coup. And for baseball’s fans, it’s even better.
