LeBron’s 43 Not Enough As Cavs Lose To Grizzlies In OT
(Sports Network) - Mike Conley drove in for the go-ahead bucket with three seconds left in overtime and the Memphis Grizzlies overcame a season-high 43 points from LeBron James to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 111-109, for their third consecutive victory.
Zach Randolph had a season-best 32 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and had four of Memphis’ 12 steals. O.J. Mayo contributed 28 points, while Rudy Gay scored 21 for the victors. Conley scored 12, while Marc Gasol chipped in 11 points and eight boards.
James also had 13 rebounds and six assists, but was just 6-of-19 from the field after halftime. Mo Williams had 20 points for the Cavaliers, who had a four-game winning streak broken.
Mayo’s three-pointer gave Memphis a 109-107 edge with 19.1 seconds left in the extra session, but James countered with a pair of free throws with 14.9 to go. Memphis then used a pick-and-roll to get Conley free and he drove past Shaquille O’Neal for the go-ahead layup.
James hit the front of the rim on a long three-point try at the buzzer.
