Sean Avery Rubs Off On the Rangers, Coaches and All

On Friday, Rangers coach John Tortorella took exception to some catcalls and, oh, a tossed beer from the crowd in Washington, D.C.

↵Late Saturday, the NHL announced a one-game suspension for Tort. The one game happens to be a potentially series-deciding Game 6 today. The Rangers lead 3-2; should the Capitals pull off a victory, the assuredly series-deciding Game 7 would be played in D.C., where Tortorella would no doubt be received with delirious support.

↵What doomed Tortorella is an NHL finding that the coach actually squirted a fan with water before being doused by the beer. Nothing justifies wasting a perfectly good beer, but you can sort-of see how Tort had it coming. I mean, that water bottle probably contained backwash. Sick!↵
