Jayson Williams’ Extremely Dramatic Life Continues

You may have thought you’d heard the last of Jayson Williams, the former rebounding stud now best known for shooting his driver in the face under dubious circumstances—and somehow never being convicted for it. But breaking news has Williams, apparently waiting on a new trial and having a blast, acting crazy enough that the police had to get involved. ↵

↵From ABC 7:↵↵⇥Authorities responded to the Embassy Suites at 102 North End Avenue at 4:02 a.m. this morning on a report of a violent, suicidal man. According to police, they went to his room, police encountered Williams, who refused to leave the room and comply with police. After numerous attempts to settle him down, Williams was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center. ↵↵I’m no lawyer, but I suspect that suicide attempts, real or imagined, very public craziness, and police involvement can’t bode well for someone hoping a jury of his peers will see things his way. But seriously, whatever weirdness he’s been been party to in the past, if Williams is indeed this much of a mess, we hope he gets the proper treatment before he goes through the circus of another trial. Even if it would make for a better story if he didn’t.↵
