Today, Big Baby is a man. Actually, scratch that: Throughout the playoffs, Davis has shown that he’s no longer a joke, and that paired with Perkins, makes for quite a one-two punch down low. But this fellow irresistibly referred to as Big Baby, before known mostly as “that guy KG made cry,” had to have a real freeze-frame moment to achieve the recognition he deserved. And last night, he got it, felling the Magic with a buzzer-beater that evened the series.↵

↵In typical playoff fashion, this cheery event overshadowed all the more substantive ball he’d been playing thus far. But eff it, now he’s a legend. So as his cult of personality rises high into the sky like a funeral pyre, let us add to the heap with this glorious video evidence of just what a lovable, squeeze-able, goofy, friendly, possibly short-lived American hero this young, nimble, rolly-polly man from Baton Rogue has become. He sings, he dances, he bangs and shoots, he sinks BBBB’s (Big Baby Buzzer Beaters, patent-pending), dolls are rolling off the assembly lines, and soon, you’ll be smashing your commemorative coffee mug out of sheer overkill. Let us not dwell on the future, though. Instead, enjoy the man in his element -- singing bad karaoke and wiggling his sizable frame. Because that’s what he gives you on the court. All day and all of the nights.↵
