So Tony Stewart nets his first win as an Owner-Driver while his teammate had a good run cut short. I`m glad that he won.
The Sprint All-Star Spectacular Race Review
You`ve got to feel for Newman as he was given a break to get back on the lead lap by Hendrick driver Jimmie Johnson, while fellow Hendrick driver Jeff Gordon ended his day by wrecking in the last segment while three wide with Newman and Kyle Busch.
Sam Hornish had a good performance in the qualifying race along with Jamie McMurray. And Joey Logano was voted in as the crowd favourite too.
OK, I thought Joey`s Wheeew into the mic was awesome. The look on Rick Flare`s face was great. Wheeeeeew!
One thing I did notice about the driver introductions was that one of Matt Kenseth`s crew members held onto his hat while on the stage and carried it down into the crowd with him and gave it to a kid near the back of the crowd. Good for him - I`m sure that kid appreciated the effort on that crew member`s part.
So what did you think of the race? I liked it, for what it was anyway. The 10 lap shoot-out at the end was great and they should keep it in the event - they can do what ever they want with the race as long as they keep that part in it.
I do think the race was over-hyped though. Correct me if I`m wrong but Speed TV started their coverage of the event at about 8:00 am - about 12 hours before the actual race started and we complain about the NFL`s long pre-game shows.
Am I wrong about this? You tell me.
