Magic’s ensemble outshines one-man act

LeBron James may be superhuman, but he can only do so much if the rest of his team is lacking. Making impossible shots is a one-man feat; coming back from a 3-1 series deficit just doesn’t happen on an individual scale.↵

↵But then again, how exactly is any team supposed to beat the Magic when they make almost half of their three-pointers, aren’t shy about shooting them, and then have Dwight Howard just go nuts in the paint in overtime? Forget about adjusting to keep Howard in motion; the big man just took it down in the post and overpowered Anderson Varejao. Oh, and Howard even made two key free throws late. Granted, the Magic won Game 4 by only two points -- a 116-114 overtime thriller -- and LeBron got a decent look at another miracle three. James, however, is getting by one brilliant play at a time, while the Magic are just getting better and better at playing their game. ↵
↵
↵Now, let’s return to that two-point margin of victory. If one less thing goes right for Orlando, or Cleveland manages any more, the Cavs win, and we’d be tied 2-2. But based on what we’ve seen, the Magic also have far more things that could go right. Even if the Cavs get big games from Delonte West and Mo Williams -- West was very good, not great, tonight, while Williams started hot but disappeared late -- you’ll still need a lot more out of those two plus LeBron to put together a clear-cut win. Even if the Cavs had tied the series, you’d still have to go with the Magic at this point.
