Brock Lesnar Is The Juggernaut

We pondered for hours, days, even weeks after Brock Lesnar’s emphatic (if boring) beatdown of Frank Mir at UFC 100 last night, what corollary there is for Lesnar in the all-important world of cartoons. Who could be so powerful and dominant while also so... immature? After all, remember when Darth Vader choked that one guy out with his Forcegrip? If it was Brock Lesnar, the crotch would have somehow been involved. Either his or the other guy’s. Probably not both.
↵
↵Then, of course, it hit us. Brock Lesnar is The Juggernaut, throwing small-to-medium sized detritus about and injuring mortals with the flick of a wrist, all with a casual disregard for ethics, safety, and everything else they try to teach you in kindergarten. Here’s a recap of the fight (

mildly NSFW language

near the end):

↵
↵In case you hadn’t heard, UFC Round Number was a moderate success, though the crowd straight up hated the Heavyweight fight between Lesnar and Mir. What, you guys aren’t down with seeing them roll around on the floor with each other? What are you, homophobes?!
↵
↵Lesnar’s casual disrespect of the crowd, including the ubiquitous middle finger salute, may or may not end up hurting him in the long run. On one hand, he’s hardly

likable

(especially as a former WWE guy in a league whose fans openly mock pro wrestling), to the point where fans will probably delight in his misfortunes as they come his way.
↵
↵On the other, being hated is a whole lot better than not being cared about, and undoubtedly there are many MMA fans who (erroneously) self-identify with Lesnar’s complete indifference toward seeking validation from the fans and the world at large. Usually, the people who admire such characters and advertise their own similar “I don’t care what people think” traits are among the most vain people on the planet. Lesnar appears to be the real deal, however. He’s a recluse and a genuinely crappy interview. Hey, authenticity isn’t always a good thing.
↵
↵Really, Lesnar’s just in “Maximus halfway through

Gladiator

” mode right now. The impetuous interviews are just a 21st century version of “are you not entertained,” and if I were Dana White, I’d be mighty wary of taking Lesnar on in any respect. It didn’t work for Commodus, and it won’t work for you.
