Hurricanes Looking to Deal Babchuk for Defensive Prospect

The Hurricanes are looking to get rid of Anton Babchuk for a defensive prospect, The News & Observer of Raleigh reports.

GM Jim Rutherford has narrowed down the list of interested teams from three to one:

Rutherford said another NHL team has serious interest in working a trade for Babchuk, who scored a career-high 16 goals last season.“They’ve walked me through the situation but they don’t seem to be in a hurry to make a firm offer,” he said.

Is it necessary to be that coy about a prospect only one team shows interest in?
