He hasn’t played organized basketball since a ten game stint with Denver in 2001-02, but nearly a decade later, J.R. Rider is returning to basketball. His story has seen equal parts triumph and tragedy, with hilarity interspersed. Like when he was arrested for smoking marijuana in the back seat of his car (out of a Sprite can), and caught with an illegal cell phone that had been altered to charge calls to someone else’s bill. As an NBA basketball player, this happened.
