Five years after plotting a muder-for-hire scheme, Mike Danton was released from prison today.
Mike Danton Paroled
In a surprising twist, it was revealed that the plan was actually aimed at his biological father rather than the previously assumed target, former agent David Frost.
At the three-hour hearing at the minimum-security Pittsburgh Institution near Kingston, Ont., Danton, 28, told the parole board he believed that someone was coming to kill him and his agent. He said that he needed to get rid of the paranoia that was haunting him by hiring a hitman, admitting he didn’t want to kill his father, Steve Jefferson, himself.
The former St.Louis Blues is set on resuming his NHL career, even though he hasn't skated since being imprisoned.
