Rockies’ closer Huston Street is one of four injured Colorado pitchers, along with Aaron Cook, Jeff Francis and Jose Contreras scheduled to pitch in a simulated game tomorrow in San Francisco according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post:
Street To Face Hitters Tuesday; Timetable For Return Still Unclear
Cook isn’t ready to concede that point. He will throw to hitters Tuesday in a simulated game at AT&T Park for the first time since his injury. That game will include Jeff Francis, Huston Street and possibly Jose Contreras. When the Rockies travel to Phoenix on Thursday, Cook and Francis are expected to go to Tucson for the instructional league.Street hasn’t felt pain in previous throwing sessions, but it is still unclear when he will return, but it will likely be soon.
The good news for the Rockies may be Cook, who was thought to be out for the year. If the former All-Star can return, he may sure up the back of Colorado’s postseason rotation.
