Gustavsson’s Surgery Goes Smoothly, Expected to Rejoin Leafs Soon
Goaltender Jonas Gustavsson, a Swedish rookie with the Toronto Maple Leafs, had successful surgery Tuesday to correct an abnormal heartbeat. He is expected to rejoin the team in a few days.
His quick recovery is great news, to be sure, but the operation hardly sounds fun:

The Fan 950 is reporting that Gustavsson was taken to the hospital on Saturday after suffering from dehydration. An EKG performed by doctors indicated an irregularity with Gustavvson’s heartbeat.
Head coach Ron Wilson says the operation is a common procedure, and he expects Gustavvson to return to practice some time this week.
