That’s probably a safe assumption, given that his foundation is contributing heavily to an event in Miami aimed at suicide prevention among gay and lesbian teens. At this point, Hardaway doesn’t have much to gain with fake gestures of goodwill — it’s been years since his remark, and pretty much everyone has written him off as a bigot anyway. Which makes me tenuously hope that this is a real, sincere effort at understanding. Which is pretty cool, all things considered.
