Elias Returns To Practice, Expects To Play Soon
The New Jersey Devils‘ all-time leading scorer, Patrik Elias, reports NorthJersey.com. Elias underwent arthroscopic groin surgery on September 15th and missed the entirety of training camp as well as October recovering. Elias is expected to return either Friday or Saturday, however Devils’ Coach Jacques Lemaire has not ruled him out of Wednesday’s game with Washington.
Elias, however, does not believe he should play until the weekend, and would prefer to play either Friday or Saturday:

The groin injury was originally not diagnosed, although Elias had surgery on his hip, a torn labrum and abductor muscle in June:
The Devils are sure to miss Elias in the lineup. He scored 31 goals to go along with his 47 assists last season. New Jersey could be looking to bring someone in to fill his spot, but they are not ready to commit to anything yet:
