NCAA President Myles Brand Passes Away From Cancer at Age 67

Sep 16, 2009 - NCAA president Myles Brand passed away today after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. (By the way, eff you, cancer. We're going to find a cure for you some day, and after that, you are in for a world of hurt, buddy.) Brand had a long and distinguished and occasionally controversial career, but for now, various friends and associates are still reacting. The Los Angeles Times' Fabulous Forum collected some of those reactions.

There will be plenty more in the next few days, we’re sure, not to mention more discussion of Brand’s legacy, which will be more contentious than this point: Myles Brand was a good man. He will be missed.
