After a hard hit from Patrick Willis left Matt Hasselbeck laying motionless on the ground for several minutes during today's Seahawks-49ers game, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer is reporting that he's been discharged from a San Francisco hospital. Their report:
Not as Bad as It Looked: Hasselbeck Released from Hospital with Bruised Ribs
The X-rays were negative while the CT scan was inconclusive, according to Seattle coach Jim Mora, and Hasselbeck rejoined his teammates for the 2-hour flight home shortly after the 23-10 loss to the 49ers.
“It is a rib bruise at this point,” Mora said. “He’s doing much better ... he’s feeling much more comfortable. We believe at this point, and it’s very preliminary, that he’s going to be OK.”
“I don’t know how you tell him to do anything different than he did,” Mora said. “You love to see that but you hate to see the results. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.”
So while the CT scan was inconclusive, at least we know Hasselbeck, who walked off the field and collapsed, isn’t seriously or permanently injured. As ESPN’s Adam Schefter explains:
