Phil Mickelson isn’t even sniffing the Tour Championship leaderboard right now, and his 14th hole at East Lake is why. The 14th is a 440-yard par 4 with no water, and while the fairway is tight, it’s dead straight. In short, it’s the kind of hole most pros look to birdie. Phil went ahead and made a quadruple bogey on the hole today. Twitter user dylanlew has one of the few eyewitness updates out there:
Phil Mickelson Has a Not-So-Good 14th Hole
I just saw Phil Mickelson get a quadruple bogey on a 440 yard par 4 with no water. That’s about as bad as shooting yourself in the leg (X4).
In a manner of speaking, yes, I guess it is.
