George Karl Would Like a Contract Extension, Please

The Nuggets have yet to offer coach George Karl a contract extension, which is a surprise not only because all signs pointed to an extension this offseason for Karl, but also because, you know, George happened to do a pretty nice job with the Nuggets last year. Western Conference Finals and all. Fortunately, Karl is handling the lack of new contract, um, diplomatically:

“I’m looking forward to getting back out on the court,” he said Thursday. “I’m humbled being one of 30 (NBA head coaches).”

↵For George Karl, that’s diplomatic. Maybe sarcastic, too. But diplomatic.
