On Friday, Browns rookie cornerback Coye Francies fell victim the antics of his blithe teammates, who threw a bucket of water on his head during practice. Usually in these situations, the dousers and dousees alike are good-humored about the dousing, following it up with a series of high fives and perhaps knock-knock jokes. But Francies was having none of it, responding by angrily dousing Brandon McDonald with Gatorade in a media-filled locker room.
If Only Head Coaches Always Acted This Way
↵↵Then, his mood, and the vibe in the room, turned more serious.
Francies flung some more ice in the direction of safety Mike Adams before heading toward safety Abram Elam’s corner cubicle. With the bucket on the floor, Francies then swung his arms at Elam, who deflected the blows.
↵↵If I were in the room I would have snidely told Francies, “hey, I think it’s time for you to hit the showers. Oh, wait, that’s unnecessary, seeing as though you were very recently doused in water!” And then I would have been beaten up.
