Rockies Win, Still 2.5 Games Up On Braves

Colorado avoided dropping a game in their slim N.L. Wild Card lead Sunday afternoon by downing St. Louis, 4-3, and remained 2.5 games ahead of Atlanta.

Rockies’ 2B Clint Barmes started the game-ending double play with a diving catch, and closer Huston Street earned his first six-out save in three years. Offensively, Colorado was led by Todd Helton and Troy Tulowitzki, who went a combined 4-for-7 with two RBI and two runs.

The Braves have seven games remaining, all at home: three against Florida and then four with Washington. The Rockies have six games left: three versus Milwaukee and three at Los Angeles.
