There’s bad news for football team that was already having a woeful season. The St. Louis Rams might have lost their starting QB, Marc Bulger, for the season. From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:League sources later told the Post-Dispatch that Bulger has a rotator cuff injury in his throwing shoulder. He will have additional testing today, and if it’s a torn rotator cuff, the injury could end his season.
Rams Suffer Significant Injuries
In addition, WR Laurent Robinson suffered what the paper termed as a “substantial right ankle injury” and he was on crutches after the game. WR Donnie Avery also sustained a rib injury.
Turf Show Times was already questioning Bulger’s play and thought a change might be in order even before hearing of the possibility that Bulger is done for the season.
Stories aside, I’ve been a staunch supporter of Bulger. While I still don’t think we can blame EVERYTHING on him (after all, he is a wounded, aging QB who probably is terrified of doing anything except giving SJ the ball), but after witnessing Boller put on a respectable (but not noteworthy) performance, I have my doubts. If Bulger can’t come back and do the same thing, their could be some legit questions about benching him.
