According to their official team website, the Kansas City Chiefs have traded backup quarterback Tyler Thipgen to the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick.
Chiefs Trade QB Thigpen to Dolphins
Thigpen, a 7th round pick in the 2007 draft, was surprisingly effective as the Chiefs’ starter last season. Playing primarily out of the spread, Thigpen racked up fairly impressive yardage totals, though turnovers did plague the second-year pro. Thigpen became expendable once the Chiefs traded for former Patriot quarterback Matt Cassel, and new head coach Todd Haley installed his more traditional offense.
Thigpen figures to be the primary backup to new Dolphins starter Chad Henne, with Wildcat quarterback Pat White becoming the likely third-string.
