Eagles Sign LB Trotter

Jay Glazer reports that the Eagles have come to terms with their former Pro Bowl MLB Jeremiah Trotter on a one year deal. The move should both buttress the Eagles' linebacking depth after starting MLB Stewart Bradley went out for the year in the preseason, as well as bring in someone already familiar with the Eagles' defensive schemes.

The former Stephen F. Austin standout was a third-round pick of the Eagles in 1998, eventually emerging as one of the top MLBs in the NFL before departing for the divisional rival Redskins in 2002. After a few star-crossed years in Washington Trotter returned to the Eagles in 2004, before inking a one year deal with Tampa in 2007. Trotter has since been out of football due to a bone-on-bone condition in his knees.
