Matt Hughes Signs Multi-Fight Extension With UFC

In his latest blog post Matt Hughes reveals that he signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC last week:

Last week I went out to Vegas and I signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC, which is much like my last contract. I also brought up the fact that I wanted to do a hunting show and they thought that would be a good thing. They still have to find out who, where and when my next fight will be and I will try to post that info ASAP. Nothing is decided yet, so anything you might be reading on the internet right now is just rumors and speculation. However, one name the UFC did bring up is a person I’ve never fought before.

UFC 105 is still in need of a main event but I have my doubts that there is an opponent out there who Hughes has not yet fought who could headline a card with the welterweight legend. One recent signing for the UFC is Phil Baroni. Baroni’s bad boy image facing off with Hughes and his uber conservative values could make for good TV. It’s not quite main event worthy, but it’d do decent business as a co-main event or featured undercard fight. It will be interesting to see how the UFC intends on using Hughes as it is clear he belongs at 170 pounds but has no chance of beating champion Georges St. Pierre.

As a side note, are there any pictures on Earth that Matt could have posted on his blog to make him look like more of a redneck?
