Rockies, Giants Both Win, Separated By One

The Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamonbacks 4-1 behind a strong outing from new acquisition Jose Contreras to maintain their one game lead in the NL Wild Card race.

The San Francisco Giants were able to keep pace by beating the Brewers 3-2 behind a solid outing from Matt Cain to stay right behind the Rockies in the race.

The NL Wild Card race has been really tight thus far and looks to remain so down the stretch. This is especially true given that the Marlins remain four games back after beating the Nationals 9-5 in Washington. The NL division races have been less interesting than most would like (not that they are decided by any means), but the NL Wild Card is far from over and looks to be the race that comes down to the wire.
