Mangini Keeps Browns Starting QB Gig Top Secret

Bill Belichick's New England Patriots are infamous for their gamemanship leading up to gameday. Now Belichick acolyte Eric Mangini is getting into the game. Cleveland.com reports:

Browns coach Eric Mangini said Monday he's made his decision on a starting quarterback, but will keep his identity internal and not reveal it to the Vikings, Sunday's season opening opponent.

He said he will tell the two quarterbacks in the "near future'' in separate conversations with each of them. He said he'll explain to them why and how the decision was made. He said as a defensive coordinator, it's difficult to prepare for an offense when the quarterback is unknown.

No wonder they called him “Mangenius”. But honestly, is this even worth it? Won’t the cat be out of the bag after the first play of the first game? How much of a competitive advantage is this, and how much is this just posturing to make yourself look smarter? Then again, when people are predicting you will finish with the worst record in the league, I guess you can use all the help you can get.
