Contrary to earlier reports, Florida Gators CB Janoris Jenkins has decided to return for his senior year instead of entering the 2011 NFL Draft. Jenkins missed the team’s Gator Bowl with a shoulder injury, which would’ve likely dinged his draftability a bit.
2011 NFL Draft: Janoris Jenkins Coming Back To Florida For Senior Year
Though he was still presumed to be a first-round pick despite the injury, it’s probably for the best that he take another year to wow NFL scouts. Though there will be concerns about his ability to adjust to a new defense, showing adaptability in that area could be another boost for his status.
Jenkins made the announcement on Twitter, saving the Gators from entering the 2011 season with three new starters. A few weeks before the Gators lost Gator Bowl hero Ahmad Black due to eligibility, Will Hill entered the draft — making his announcement via Facebook. Kids these days!
