The Buckeye Battle Cry: Finally, The Team We All Expected

The Buckeye Battle Cry, SB Nation’s new Ohio State blog, praises the timing of Tuesday’s win against Purdue in their postgame recap.

The win comes at precisely the right time for the Buckeyes as they escape a dangerous 1-4 record to start off in the Big Ten. Especially against one of the top teams in the Big Ten on their home court gives great hopes for this team to continue to grow and make great strides towards the NCAA tournament down the stretch. The team play, and the re-emergence of Evan Turner’s dominant play is huge right now, especially coming out of the difficult part of the schedule.

Turner took over in the second half, scoring 23 of his 32 in the final 20 minutes. Keep in mind this was his third game back from a severe back injury. The message to the Big Ten at the moment is “Watch out.”
