No. 2 Kentucky Heads To Florida In SEC Play
Gainesville, FL (Sports Network) - Eric Bledsoe hit 10-of-13 from the floor en route to 25 points, adding seven rebounds and five assists, as still unbeaten No. 2 Kentucky fended off Florida, 89-77, in an SEC clash.
Fellow freshmen John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins chipped in 19 and 13 points, respectively, for the Wildcats (17-0, 2-0 SEC), who held the Gators to two field goals over the final five-plus minutes to pull away.
Patrick Patterson logged 15 points and seven rebounds as Kentucky continues its best start since the 1966 Wildcats opened with 23 straight wins.
Erving Walker posted 20 points and Alex Tyus donated 17 points and seven boards for the Gators (11-5, 0-2), who were coming off a 95-87 loss at Vanderbilt on Saturday.
