Matt Bradley Serves As Ovechkin’s Stunt Double

↵↵⇥↵⇥↵⇥↵⇥↵⇥↵⇥↵↵

↵
↵Alexander Ovechkin and Steve Downie had been engaging in some standard chippiness late in last night’s 7-4 Lightning win over the Caps. When both left the box after serving matching minor roughing penalties in the 3rd period, they went right back at it. Gloves off, ready to go.↵↵Except, swinging in like El Kabong from the bench was Ovechkin’s teammate Matt Bradley to take the fight for the star. Since losing Donald Brashear, many have said the Caps are without an enforcer, so perhaps this is Bradley’s way of trying to assume that role. Either way, can’t have the franchise player taking needless injuries in fights near the end of relatively meaningless regular season contests.↵

↵↵As a side note, be sure to check out Dan Steinberg’s goofy shot by shot recap of the usurped fight.↵
