A Hockey Game May Break Out Among All Of The Fighting In Toronto

The last meeting between the Flyers and Maple Leafs had its fair share of physicality and Thursday night’s game should hold true as well. Daniel Carcillo scored a goal in the last meeting and then after getting some taunts from the Toronto bench, he made a throat slashing motion toward the Maple Leafs bench that they ultimately didn’t care for. Fights ensued throughout the third period and Carcillo was fined $2500 for his actions.

↵Fast forward to Thursday and those same two teams meet again with their last game fresh in their mind. Toronto is showing signs of wanting to pick a fight with their callup of Jay Rosenhill from their AHL affiliate. Rosenhill has his fair share of penalty minutes in the AHL this season and was brought up to throw his body around.

↵Travis from our Flyers site, Broad Street Hockey, had this to say about how the Leafs playing tough was going to actually help the Flyers:

↵Besides, with the way Peter Laviolette has the Flyers playing smart, disciplined hockey, I think the boys will have the lowly Leafs right where they want them if they try to turn tonight’s game into a boxing match. They’re here to win, not to put on a show for Toronto’s fans.↵Whether the game becomes a bloodbath has yet to be seen. With all of the hype surrounding it though, if it doesn’t it will become a disappointment.
