Tiger Woods Reportedly Ready to do Something Big in Haiti

Is Tiger Woods finally ready to show his face? That’s unclear, but if the gossip is to be believed, he’s at least ready to willingly put his name back into the press. What started from a tweet from Russell Simmons seems to have become a full-blown rumor with details. Here’s where it all began:↵

↵↵

↵↵This turned into a Huffington Post story yesterday. The New York Daily News jumps in with something a little more specific, also from Simmons:↵

↵↵⇥ Tiger Woods is considering a $3 million donation that would send doctors and supplies to Haiti, rap icon Russell Simmons told the Daily News. ↵⇥↵⇥“Tiger Woods is working on sending a mobile hospital with 50 EMTs to go set up a triage,” Simmons said Wednesday night.↵⇥

↵⇥↵⇥ “I am waiting to have the conversation [with Tiger] tomorrow morning,” Simmons’ spokesman Marcus Harris said. “I am hopeful that it is a yes.” ↵⇥

↵↵↵So here’s the thing: by all accounts, Tiger Woods hasn’t committed to this just yet. Sounds like there’s still some firming up of the details to be done. But at this point, with a full-blown rumor that Tiger is about to do some major good over in Haiti, not following through on it -- whether he ever intended to or not -- will only give him another black eye. Here’s hoping that Woods uses his vast resources to do a great thing.↵
