Kurt Warner Injures Chest, Returns To Game In Second Half

If Kurt Warner was indeed contemplating retirement before the playoffs began, hits like this might convince him to hang’em up. Warner was briefly knocked out of the game before returning in the second half, as the Saints ran away from the Cardinals, 45-14.

Backup quarterback Matt Leinart looked fairly sharp in his relief of starter Kurt Warner, but in the second half, Warner has returned to the game. Warner looks up for the job, having completed the first pass since his return.

Contrary to my previous report, Kurt Warner has not suffered a concussion. Rather, FOX just reported that the Cardinals quarterback has left with a chest injury.

Backup Matt Leinart has entered the game near the half, down three touchdowns. The obvious storyline here is that Leinart is now in the game with Reggie Bush, his former USC teammate.

Though we don’t have official word, this certainly appears to be a concussion. Warner is now on the sideline.
