Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - Wayne Chism led all scorers with 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, as ninth-ranked Tennessee outlasted SEC Conference foe Ole Miss, 71-69, in overtime at Thompson-Boling Arena.

J.P. Prince donated 13 points, eight boards and eight assists, while Josh Bone ended with nine points for Tennessee (14-2, 2-0 SEC), which has now won six straight.

Chris Warren had a team-high 19 points, while Terrico White and Zach Graham finished with 17 and 16 points, respectively, for Ole Miss (13-4, 1-2), which was coming off an 80-76 win over Georgia on Wednesday. The Rebels have split their last six overall.

With the game tied at 59-all at the end of regulation, it remained a back-and- forth battle for the majority of the extra period. White, however, hit from beyond the arc and was fouled, then converted the free throw for a four-point play that put Ole Miss ahead 65-64 with 1:17 left.

Chism answered with a pair of free throws with 49 seconds on the clock after he was fouled by DeAundre Cranston, and UT was back in front by a point. After Warren missed from three-point range on the Rebels’ next trip, they were forced to foul, Chism made two more at the line for a 68-65 lead and the hosts prevailed in the final seconds.

Ole Miss set the tone in the first half, jumping out to an 18-10 lead at the midway point and were up 29-22 with nearly 3 1/2 minutes left after Warren hit a three-pointer.

Wayne Chism’s reverse layup got the Volunteers to within three with just over a minute to go, before White’s floating jumper at the half minute mark made it a 33-28 game, which was the score at the break.

In the second half, White’s two free throws put Ole Miss ahead 54-46 with 7 1/2 minutes to play before the Volunteers got hot from the outside. Chism drained back-to-back threes and Bone hit from beyond the arc to give the Vols their first lead of the game, 55-54, with 5 1/2 minutes remaining.

Then after Prince made 1-of-2 from the stripe to give the hosts a 59-57 lead with just over a minute left, Cranston’s make tied the game with 46 seconds left. Each team failed to go ahead in the final seconds at the game went to overtime.

This game marked the 104th all-time meeting in a series that began in 1924 with Tennessee holding a 66-38 advantage overall.
