No. 11 Georgetown In Philly To Challenge No. 4 Villanova
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Scottie Reynolds scored 27 points to lead fourth-ranked Villanova to an 82-77 victory over No. 11 Georgetown at the Wachovia Center.
Reynolds hit the go-ahead basket in the final minutes and added four big free throws down the stretch for Villanova (16-1, 5-0 Big East), which blew all of a 17-point lead before going on to its seventh straight win since a loss to Temple on December 13.
Maalik Wayns also hit four free throws in the closing seconds and finished with 11 points for the Wildcats, who are off to their best start since the 1963-64 team opened 17-1.
Greg Monroe scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for Georgetown (13-3, 4-2), which had a two-game win streak stopped. The Hoyas nearly pulled off their second monstrous comeback in eight days, as last Saturday they rallied from 19 points down to stun Connecticut, 72-69.
