A middleweight match-up pitting submission ace Rousimar Palhares (10-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) against the heavy-handed Thomasz Drwal (17-2-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) will be finalized shortly for UFC 111, sources close to the situation told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). Both fighters have agreed to the match-up and are expected to turn in bout agreements this week.
UFC 111 is set for March 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Rousimar Palhares v. Thomasz Drwal At UFC 111
Palhares has won three fights in the UFC, only dropping one fight to Dan Henderson during his time in the Octagon. This past December he managed to get a win over Lucio Linhares in a bout that looked very close on paper.
Thomasz Drwal has joined Palhares in quietly racking up a very solid UFC record. Most recently the Polish Drwal was able to take home a rear naked choke victory over Drew McFedries in a bout many expected to be contested on the feet.
A win for either man should establish them as a true force in the 185 pound division by boosting their records to a very impressive 4-1.
