Landon Donovan Enjoying Time With Everton, May Want To Extend Loan

Just two weeks into his loan from LA Galaxy to Everton, US National Team star Landon Donovan is feeling very much at home and would consider extending his stay:

“I’ve been made to feel so welcome and when you’re welcome like that you don’t want to let anyone down,” said the forward. “It’s a sharp contrast to how I felt last year when I was at Munich.

“It’s a little more individual and selfish there. Here they make you feel part of a family and you keep going because you don’t want to let anyone down...

“If I look back after 10 weeks and say I really want to stay then maybe I can make that happen. If I say okay it was good, but I’m ready to go then I can go, but for now I’m taking it week by week.”

That isn’t exactly the same as saying he definitely wants to stay. There is a lot of time left in his loan and a lot can happen, but positive loan experiences for other LA Galaxy stars (okay, just one other star), led to some contention and left Galaxy without a big piece of their team for the early part of the season last year. This is something to keep an eye on if Donovan continues his success with Everton.
