John Hart doesn’t see a ton of action for Purdue, averaging just shy of five minutes a game in the seven contests he’s played in so far this season.
John Hart Is Officially The Forgotten Boilermaker
↵However, Boilermaker coach Matt Painter decided to use him a bit more than usual during the first half of the team’s game at Illinois.
↵Hart missed his first three field goal attempts, but hit his fourth, meaning that he had nearly doubled his scoring average (1.1 points per game) with a single shot. The basket also cut the Illini lead to 28-26.
↵Unfortunately for Purdue, no one remembered to actually record Hart’s name in the scorebook. That resulted in a technical foul, a real momentum killer, as Demetri McCarney converted both foul shots for the Illini and Mike Davis hit a jumper on the next possession to give Illinois a six-point lead again, just before halftime.
↵Oops.
↵Expect Purdue’s next home game to be “John Hart Appreciation Night.”
