Our Detroit Tigers blog, Bless You Boys, has come up with a list of phrases that should be stricken from baseball vocabulary forever. Among the list: “small sample size,” “pull the trigger,” and anything Hawk Harrelson says.

↵This is a good start, but which colloquialisms from other sports need to die? I humbly submit “hit as he throws,” any and all comparisons of players to Willis Reed, anything that ends with “-gate” (which should be enforced by fine and/or prison time), and “Kansas City Chiefs.”
