Third-ranked Kentucky is currently hosting Louisville at Rupp Arena and the ill will between the two teams is palpable.
Battle Of The Bluegrass: Not Just A Clever Marketing Slogan
↵The first minute of the game featured shouting matches, scrums, technical fouls on the Cardinals’ Jared Swopshire and Reginald Delk and an elbow thrown by the Wildcats’ DeMarcus Cousins as he was fighting for the ball on the floor with Delk.
↵That elbow was only caught on replay, and resulted in another technical foul on Cousins, not an ejection, which would have been warranted. That set Twitter alight.
↵↵CBS Sports’ Seth Davis: To say Cousins is lucky is understatement. Love the passion of this rivalry but hopefully they will settle down now.
↵Scout’s Dave Telep: Cousins won’t/cant learn. World at his fingertips and he wants to go the Rasheed Wallace route.
↵CBS Sports’ Tim Brando: No way should Cousins be in this game. The elbow was flagrant! Seth and I will discuss at halftime. 3 veteran officials with replay. No way.
↵↵All of the commotion hasn’t seemed to hurt the Wildcats, who were ahead 15-3 at the under 12 minute media timeout. The Cardinals had yet to hit a field goal by that point.
