Hey Frank Martin: Great Win! But Your Offensive Sets Suck!

↵↵↵↵↵↵↵Perhaps it's because he's out of coaching, stuck wearing pastel colored sweaters with the worldwide leader's logo embroidered over his left breast, or maybe it's just because Robert Montgomery Knight still knows how to reach back and fire off those fantastic prickly comments that we know him for best. Regardless, the anecdote from the Kansas City Star's Bill Reiter from the bowels of the Bramlage Coliseum on Monday night - after Kansas State beat then undefeated Texas - is interesting to envision in your own head.

↵Per Reiter:

↵↵Martin started to tell Knight, whose hand he was shaking for the first time, how much he’d always respected him. Knight, the longtime coach and now an ESPN announcer, cut him off.

↵“To hell with that,” he said. “We need to get you to run a better offense.”

↵↵Looking at the box score, and recollecting on what I witnessed, I feel like this old Knight curmudgeon needs to be scolded. Oh the nerve of this guy! He continued by telling Martin he was upset with the angles and overall execution of the Wildcats offense. Should we take Knight’s word for it? He does have 902 career wins, three national championships and an eye for fashion.
