Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Shawn Marion blocked Caron Butler's potential game-winning shot in the final seconds, and the Dallas Mavericks escaped with a 94-93 win over the Washington Wizards.

Marion had 12 points, 12 rebounds and a pair of blocks for the Mavericks, who nearly blew a seven-point lead with a minute to play but improved to 2-1 on a five-game Eastern Conference road trip. Dirk Nowitzki posted a game-high 28 points, and Jason Terry had 21 points in the win.

Randy Foye led the Wizards with 26 points, but Washington squandered a chance to earn its first three-game win streak since the 2007-08 season. Butler added 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Brendan Haywood had 13 points and 18 boards in defeat.
