The glossy-haired one released his first mock draft of the year on Wednesday. This really means the draft season is in full swing, folks. Isn’t it wonderful?
Rock out with your mock draft out: Mel Kiper
This is ESPN Insider content, so we can’t go into too much detail here. I don’t want to get sued and all.
I have been in the middle of updating my mock draft for the first time since October. The problem is that my first five picks are the same as Mel’s. As to not look like a copycat, mine will be changed up. And delayed further. Curse you, godfather of draftniks!
Here is who he has:
1. St. Louis - Ndamukong Suh | DT | Nebraska
2. Detroit - Gerald McCoy | DT | Oklahoma
3. Tampa Bay - Eric Berry | S | Tennessee
4. Washington - Sam Bradford | QB | Oklahoma
5. Kansas City - Russell Okung | OT | Oklahoma State
No shockers. The biggest surprise he includes is projecting Ricky Sapp, defensive end from Clemson, to New England with pick 23.
Although New England tends to buck convention when drafting, with success, Sapp for me carries a third-round value. But we've seen the Patriots overdraft before and do well.
Mosey over to Mel’s mock for more. Alliteration!
