Two nights ago Stephen Colbert began the path to making the US Olympic Team as a speed skater…by learning to skate. Last night he took a 13 minute head start on Shani Davis in a race for the final spot. The results follow below.

↵To review: Stephen Colbert, 13 minutes and 43.89 seconds, Shani Davis 35.24 seconds. Colbert did clearly win the costume portion of the competition, and did make the team as “Assistant Sports Psychologist,” so it’s not all a total loss for Team Colbert here.
